Fleur has been teaching philosophy and telling traditional stories to people of all ages for over 30yrs. She’s been telling stories in saunas since June 2018.

IN PERSON - 5.11.26-10.12.26 Thursday Evenings 6.30pm-8.30pm 8 places £125 6 wk commitment

Develop your own story practice. You will learn how to work with traditional stories so they are alive in and around you. You will learn how to research, choose, respect, learn from, and share stories that have both literary and oral origins. We will work with folklore, folktales, fairy tales and myth. Playful and informative, you’ll develop skills in oracy, improvisation, repertoire and philosophical thinking.

Themes we will explore:

What is the stuff of story?
How is structure significant?
How to respect tradition and share stories excellently.
Forming, sustaining, and ending relationships with story.
Applied storytelling; how you bring story into your life.
Sharing Circle: receiving to learn how to give.

.What will we do in a typical 2hr session?

Begin with a 10 min check-in
I will tell a story, relevant to the theme of the week
Then, you will be given a series of fun exercises that build on each other. They will help you accumulate your understanding at your own speed. Discussion time
10min break at about 7.30pm,(with SOUP for in person courses - drink and nibble contributions welcome)

What will you do at home during the week?

Complete a 20 min daily story exercise, to help habituate you into a life-long practice of working with story.

I also run HEARTH STORIES ONLINE, on Google Classroom, (not Z**m). Keep an eye out for new dates in 2027.

- As Above, So Below. Celestial Story Folklore. Bond with the Universal Bodies who see us from the skies. We will invite treasured Baltic Stories to help us practice our sauna craft with skill. These workshops welcome sauna owners and practitioners who are interested in working with story. And storytellers, who are curious to find out more about sauna storytelling. Or, if you are a beginner storyteller, who wants to work with story, in a nourishing sauna environment.

A workshop collaboration with Charlotte Xerri from Voice Your Potential® Ltd

Inspired by the story oF THE LITTLE MERMAID, we will work at the intersections between traditional oral storytelling, singing & spoken voice production.

She thought she had lost her voice, but with warmth and wisdom she transformed.

A day of unique, interactive sessions exploring how archetypes emerge in traditional story & vocal function.
Find & develop techniques & new skills along with useful frameworks to enhance your creative process.
This active & fun day will interest storytellers, singers, actors, teachers & anyone curious to find out how to sustain personal practice with story, song & voice
As founder & director of Voice Your Potential® Ltd Charlotte Xerri produces and presents voice related training events & certification in the UK and internationally.
Charlotte's experience spans corporate, healthcare & education settings, including many of the major institutions across the UK. She is an associate lecturer at Chichester University Conservatoire.
Her career in performance, as a soloist mezzo soprano includes recital, opera, oratorio & session work, most recently playing Irene in Handel’s Theodora.
Building upon understanding of vocal function, Charlotte has collaborated in UK and international voice research.
We will work in the beautiful function room at Yellow Wave. It is right on the beach and has a fabulous sea view. Beach Box Sauna is a stone’s throw away for your post course enjoyment.
There is a cafe on site with delicious food and refreshments that cater for all dietary needs.
